About Canty Construction
Canty Construction is a Lynnwood contractor that works in two places: above the ceiling and below the floor. We chose that focus deliberately. Attics and crawl spaces are where many of the problems in Puget Sound houses start — moisture, rodents, failed insulation — and they are the spaces general contractors and remodelers tend to skip because they are cramped, dirty and out of sight.
Why only attics and crawl spaces
Specializing lets us do three things better than a generalist:
- Diagnose. We see the same building patterns every week: 1960s ramblers with failed floor insulation, Craftsman side attics with no air barrier, split-levels with open transitions, bath fans that stop at the attic. We know where to look.
- Equip. High-volume insulation vacuums, blowing machines, moisture meters, thermal cameras and HEPA equipment are standard on our trucks, not rentals.
- Sequence. Exclusion before cleanup, air sealing before insulation, water before vapor barriers. Doing things in the right order is most of what makes these jobs last.
How we work with you
Every job starts with an inspection inside both spaces and a photo report written for homeowners. Our proposals list each line of work separately, with optional items marked as optional. When we finish, the closing report shows the same spots after the work. You should never have to take our word for what is in your attic.
When the inspection turns up something outside our work — a roof leak, a structural foundation issue, damaged wiring, asbestos — we say so plainly and refer you to a qualified specialist. We do not stretch our scope to keep a job.
Licensing and insurance
Canty Construction LLC is a registered Washington contractor, registration CANTYCL834NR, bonded and insured. Electrical work connected to our projects, such as sump pump circuits, is performed by licensed electricians under permit.
The team
I spent my first summers in the trade pulling soaked insulation out of crawl spaces in Lynnwood and Mountlake Terrace, and I still do most of our inspections myself. I started Canty Construction because homeowners kept telling me the same thing: nobody had ever shown them what was actually up there or down there. Every report we send is the one I would want for my own house.
Insulation, air sealing and ventilation. Twelve years blowing cellulose in Puget Sound attics.
Vapor barriers, encapsulation and drainage. Runs every liner and sump install from layout to final readings.
Builds the photo reports and proposals, and schedules the follow-up visits after exclusion and encapsulation work.

Reviews
“They found two gaps under the deck and one at the dryer vent that our pest company missed for a year. Nothing has gotten in since, and the photo report showed every repair.”
“Our crawl space had plastic from 1978 and standing water every January. Daniel’s crew put in a drain and a new liner in three days. The musty smell in the hallway is gone.”
“The inspection report was clearer than the one from our home inspector. We fixed the bath fan and air sealed before adding insulation, and the upstairs finally holds heat.”
“Fixed price, on schedule, and they covered the hallway carpet the whole way to the hatch. The before-and-after photos made the decision easy for my wife and me.”
